Video: AT&T launching Mobile TV May 4th, demonstrated on LG Vu

MediaFLO is about to cut loose for AT&T customers and we’ve got video to prove it. After the break you’ll find Mobile TV running on LG’s new $300 (2-year, after $100 rebate) Vu, one of just two Mobile TV compatible handsets launching on AT&T May 4th — the other being the $200 (2-year, after $100 rebate) Samsung Access. Performance looks reasonably snappy when scrolling through the channel guide although some of the exclusive PIX and CNN Mobile Live content is not yet available. S’ok, AT&T has three more days to throw the big blue switch on the broadcast TV service which includes a $15/month unlimited Mobile TV access plan. Hear that Verizon? AT&T’s about to step all over your portable TV game in the US market.

DIY’er crafts scientific calculator watch, TI-30 is like "what?"

Filed under: Engadget — admin @ 8:16 am

Calculator watches, a staple of the average’s geek wardrobe since before your grandmother was born, have been called out, as David Jones’ own homegrown version totally trumps anything out there on the pre-fabricated market today. The cleverly-titled µWatch was born after a Casio CFX-400 bit the dust after years upon years of telling time and determining averages, and while it seems as though a bona fide front panel is still in the works, we’re personally hoping that currently unoccupied Design & Construction portal gets updated with a how-to guide. Check out the read link for a few more shots of the early prototype and the current build.

Kids Love Games But Big Kids Don’t

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 6:10 pm

I wonder why a lot of kids out there loves to play boring games. Like Dress up doll games, Dora the Explorer Games, and other Similar games. These games are so boring. I can’t even spend a few seconds playing those games. I really have a hard time understanding children of why they love it.

Whether it’s a role playing game or just a simple puzzle game, the main thing is, it still sucks big time. These games are very addiciting, kids love to play with it all night. They can’t even sleep sometimes because they really want to put their eyes on their PC monitors and concentrate on their favorite dress up games and Dora games.

I have tried to play these games and I found it not entertaining. I’d rather play NDS Games and Download Free Nintendo DS Games online or PSP Games (There are a lot of Free PSP Games available for download in the world wide web). XBOX Games are also good, but I haven’t tried it yet. It’s been a while since I spent my whole day in front of a computer monitor playing arcade games. At the end, I get nothing, I only wasted my precious time. I should have read books and read online articles that are productive.

Still, games are fun and enjoyable. But it depends on the game that you are into. Choose the right game that suites you. Don’t play games that will just waste your time and money. Play education games, like quiz games, or role playing games that you can benefit into. I think there’s no other games that I can benefit. Nahhh.. I’m talking nonsense here. Just play if you want to play. If you don’t want to, think of other productive activities that you can waste your time into.

Sorry for this article’s poor grammar and punctuations. I just can’t write well as others do. I’m still a newbie at this stuff. Even if I’m doing this for 2 years now, I still suck in writing anything. Whether it’s on the keyboard or a pen on paper, I still suck bigtime. My paragraphs are redundant. It keeps on repeating over and over again. I can’t even notice that I just repeated what I already said. My grammar senses are quite low and my vocabulary are lower than my grammar I.Q. My brain is like a brain of a fish. Staring at nothing, swimming with no direction, looking for food, waiting… just waiting until death will quench my sight.

Ivyskin’s Xylo T2 case engulfs your iPhone, doesn’t inhibit touchscreen use

Filed under: Engadget — admin @ 3:46 pm

This one’s been available for a tick, but ivyskin’s brilliant new iPhone case is just too marvelous to ignore. The Xylo Touch-Thru (T2) claims to be the first case to put a hard shell atop the iPhone’s touch panel which can remain in place as you check your email, respond to a SMS or dial up the local pizza joint. By utilizing Surface Xylo Wave technology, ultrasonic waves are able to permeate through to the display without interference, allowing users to simultaneously keep their precious panel protected ’round the clock while not inhibiting their ability to touch and feel. Not a bad investment for $34.99, eh?

Blockbuster Announcing a Media Streamer This Month? [Home Entertainment]

Filed under: Gizmodo — admin @ 1:26 pm

While we’ve known that Blockbuster was looking to get into digital distribution since they bought Movielink, according to a very confident Reuters, Blockbuster will be announcing a streaming set top box for customers to download movies directly to their televisions (a la Vudu, Apple TV, etc). That’s an important point, as Reuters stood firm that it will specifically not be a service for TiVo or Xbox 360 but a product offering a service. Herein lies the mistake. [Reuters]

beoFrenz Instant Mobile Messenger

beoFrenz Instant Mobile Messenger

I am sort of an Instant Messaging (IM) addict and I also check emails daily unless I go on holiday trips. I always wanted to message friends or business partners via IM ever since I had 3G access on my Nokia N95 and I chanced upon this site that has its HQ in downtown Kuala Lumpur. Its’s a Meebo replacement that resides on your mobile phone called beoFrenz. On the site’s description, it says:

BeoFrenz keep you update with your social life, with allows you to connect to MSN, Yahoo, and its own community Beo. Besides mobile, its has a social communities website, http://beofrenz.com which allow you to create your own communities.

The Project Manager, Chris told me to drop by one day and speak to their CEO (Mr Sia Hui Yong) to get an insight on what they really do….

Q: What is the latest beoFrenz version and what does it run on ?
Its currently on the 0.9 stable version and new updates are ongoing at the moment. Right now we support the Symbian 60 platform and we may move to S40 later.

Q: How many users does beoFrenz have ?
We had about 100 beta users in early 2007. Since we had a small tie up with Nokia Indonesia, where Nokia 6500 phones were pre-installed with our software, it had grown to over 500 members.

New Update : Chris tells me that they already have around 11K users, and they’ve partnered up with virtualmalaysia.com.my, to leverage on the travel portal’s 30K user base.

Q: What special features are there on beoFrenz ?
Well for one thing, its coded on Java which means it runs on all mobile platforms like Symbian and Windows Mobile. The screen size will auto adjust on your mobile phone too.

Q: What IM platform does beoFrenz support?
Yahoo, MSN, Gtalk, Jabber. There are no plans for AIM yet

Q: Are chat groups or chat rooms supported?
We don’t have plans for that yet. We will have to see.

Q: How does users get support?
We have a team working 5×8 on weekdays now (Malaysia time GMT+8). The support email is on the main site.

Q: Tell me more about the beoFrenz Ads platform?
We can integrate ads into our software whereby it will show up as a Contact on the main screen. A click on that contact ie say DELL, will pop open another tab that shows the advertiser’s content. It’s a non-intrusive way compared to pop ups and banners. We can also integrate RSS feeds from blogs into the beoFrenz content area. Advertisers can also generate reports on the login screen or csv format.

Mesiro Merium media PC has sleek, sexy down pat

Filed under: Engadget — admin @ 9:48 pm

Those on the hunt for a pre-fabricated HTPC can’t complain about a lack of choices these days, but if you’ve yet to be taken aback by anything out there, why not give Mesiro’s Merium a glance? The standout feature here isn’t the 1.66GHz Core 2 Duo T5500 processor, 250GB internal HDD, dual-layer DVD burner, GMA950 graphics accelerator, WiFi, 5-in-1 multicard reader or the bundled MCE remote — oh no, it’s the interchangeable chassis covers (weird, right?). Yep, you can swap out the covers on this rig whenever you feel the urge, ensuring that there’s a case for every occasion. Unfortunately, those in America who’d like to get in on this won’t appreciate the €999 ($1,578) price tag, and those €55 ($87) faceplates aren’t any easier to swallow.

Now that Blu-ray has secured its position as the one and only HD disc format, it’s only natural to see it becoming more of a standard feature on desktop PCs, laptops, camcorders, and–now–home theater systems. Samsung’s HT-BD2T
